If we can get enough residents and non-residents to send out this email, I believe our council will respect it.
Election Results Overview: Another point I observed after the video is the significant drop in participation at council meetings. After the option for Zoom meetings was stopped, there was an 80% drop in people coming to speak at the council. I understand it’s not possible for everyone to come and speak in person at the council meeting.
However, on January 10th, during the City Council meeting, if even a few residents come up and speak about this issue during the public comment period, the City would be legally required to appoint me as a council member.
The first thing I will do as a council member is to bring back the ability for people to speak in council meetings remotely. It’s just a matter of turning on a switch, and it could be done immediately.
